Digital Xpress is a new, four-year, $500,000 grant from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. This project will prepare elementary teachers in eight school districts to use digital images to increase student achievement in written communication. In addition to teaching teachers (and eventually students) to shoot and edit digital photographs, the project will also result in the development of a teacher-managed online publishing system that facilitates grading, communication with parents, and peer review. In the past eight years, the Center has managed the technology instruction of more than 2,200 undergraduate Education majors.
