Graphic Organizers are useful tools throughout the Learning Cycle.  Teacher prepared grapnic organizers may be left partially blank, used to introduce a topic - to orient the readers to the structure of the text - and then guide student learning as they annotate the grapnic organizer.  Student prepared graphic organizers can serve to help students put an author's words into their own as students read the text.  They can also be used as a  review strategy, alone or in combination with List-Group-Label.
