The kids have even gotten to play with the hot, new Nintendo Wii video game Big Brain Academy.
The Media Center is an excellent resource for teaching tools available to students and professors alike.

After several years of understaffing, the Media Center in 212 Tillman is receiving serious attention again. We will be working closely with Caroline Mills, a doctoral graduate assistant who will serve as interim director of the Media Center, to make the Media Center a showcase for the School of Education. Many, but certainly not all of the upgrades and innovations in the Media Center will involve technology, and we will assist where needed whether the need is technology-related or not. Technology-related efforts include moving the technology equipment checkout to the vault, establishing a videotaping “mini-studio in the “orange room, and setting up stations to support student development of e-portfolios. Current plans are to blend Media Center and Computer Lab personnel into one unified resource that will shift from room to room as needed.

Digital Xpress is a new, four-year, $500,000 grant from the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education. This project will prepare elementary teachers in eight school districts to use digital images to increase student achievement in written communication. In addition to teaching teachers (and eventually students) to shoot and edit digital photographs, the project will also result in the development of a teacher-managed online publishing system that facilitates grading, communication with parents, and peer review. In the past eight years, the Center has managed the technology instruction of more than 2,200 undergraduate Education majors.
